Light the fuse! Tom is back with a genre defining classic.

Your mission, should you *choose* to accept it.  I wonder, did you ever choose not to?  The movie you've always known was coming, has made surface and there are no box office positive barrier that can’t be broken.  It is all in your hands now. The fallout of all your good intentions shall be put to the test.

Spies and secret agents….  Spies come in many guises.  From cold war agents sneaking micro film across borders, swaggering action men leaping from trains, to desk-bound suits pulling strings from afar.   The shadowy world of espionage is an excellent breeding ground for fascinating movie characters.  

I love spy movies as with many my age.  I grew up watching the characters “Simon Templar” in The Saint and a certain Mr. Bond, “James Bond”.   There are pretenders to Bond’s throne, but for the last 50 years, nobody has managed to topple the king.   If anything, his appeal is stronger than ever. 

However, every throne King/Queen has an expiry date, the cold wars has long ended and the Cruise that began in 1996 has finally arrived at harbor point #NotVI.. in grand style. Scrap that..   It is the best mission yet! It is an action masterpiece! It is spy untouchable and it is almost impossible to see a better action blockbuster movie this summer or next.

The fact remains that Tom Cruise has never won an Academy Award (Oscars)..But I can say for certain, that he has won the Oscars of hearts and the global box office with respect… which has picked the interest of billions men/women admires all over the world.

ANTMAN AND THE WASP

Hello Everyone,

Chapter Two.

This is perhaps the most important and crucial periods of our lives and the Filmhouse Family.  What you do now and what you decide now at this junction, may well determine which way your life shall go.

And the question is, whether you have a proper, a solid, and a sound blueprint.   I would like to suggest some of the things that should be in your life's blueprint at this junction.

• Number one in your life's blueprint should be; a deep belief in your own dignity, your own worth and your own person.  Don't allow anybody to make you feel that you are nobody.  Always feel that you count, always feel that you have worth, and always feel that your life has ultimate significance.

• Secondly, in your life's blueprint, you must have as a basic principle the determination to achieve excellence in your various fields of endeavor.  It is natural as the days and the years unfold you are going to be deciding what next...  Once you discover what it will be, set out to do it and to do it well.  Be a bush if you can't be a tree.  If you can't be a highway, just be a trail.  If you can't be the sun, be a star, for it isn't by size that you win or you fail, be the best of whatever you are.

• Finally in your life's blueprint, there must be a commitment to the eternal principals of beauty, trust, love, loyalty and justice.

In the 17th Chapter of St Luke it is written: “the Kingdom of God is within man” - not one man nor a group of men, but in all men! In you! You, the people have the power - the power to create machines. The power to create happiness! You, the people, have the power to make this life free and beautiful, to make this life a wonderful adventure.

Well... life for most of us has been a crystal stair, a few of us started this journey from a blank white sheet to a multi billion company, a dream that became reality, a priceless reality that  prides it's worth in it's people "you".  I say to you today, there are many more glorious chapters to be written and bricks to carry, but we must keep moving, we must keep going.  If you can't fly, run.  If you can't run, walk.  If you can't walk, crawl. But by all means, keep moving.

DEADPOOL 2

Hello All,

The famous credo — “with great power comes great responsibility” certainly does not apply to all in the superhero universe.

In a world filled with crowded and highly competitive super-human, villains and the genetically enhanced is the most foul-mouthed, filthiest, fourth wall-freakiest superhero of them all- DeadPool.

One of the many qualities that earned him a big-screen movie worthy of his brash irreverence, rewrote the rules of every and any Cinematic Universe known to man.  Superhero movies can be entertaining, silly and irreverent without damaging our soul. And boy! does Deadpool have a lot of that.  From the opening scene right up until the final moments, all you feel is heart, Def-Jam and breath taking action scenes.  

The great thing about this title, it shows every single element of a whacked-out story of misfit superheroes joining together to fight evil works in harmony.  You've got the throwback soundtrack that absolutely deviates from the plot scenes but manages to crack your ribs at every turn.  Spot-on casting with new mis-guided superhero’s that were clearly left behind from the Avengers Wars .  Nevertheless, the chemistry they bring together on screen, makes just enough fan service to prevent this title from tipping into oblivion. 

If you like your superheroes without the swagger, this is for you.   If you like superheroes with no identity or purpose and  outdated fashion sense, this is for you.  Spoiler Alert! If you want to see a superhero that can never die and one that perhaps the DC Marvel Universe (Avengers) should have recruited to face Thanos, this is for you.

Beneath the lycra outfits and caricature villain is a heart-warming tale that's all about the importance of family.  So, as I often say! whatever the case may be, however the week is going, everyone needs a little relaxation time as often as possible and it remains our pleasure to offer you that and so much more, because your comfort remains our priority. AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR

We are faced with the very gravest of challenges.  “Dread it, run from it, destiny still arrives”.  I knew a man who once said death smiled at us all, and all a man can do, is smile back.  There was an idea to bring together a group of remarkable people, to see if they could become something more.  So when needed, they could fight the battles that we never could.

The good book calls this "judgment day"; the end of the world, the end of all things.  And yet, for the first time in the history of our planet, a species has the advance human Juju/DNA/technology to prevent its own extinction.  All of you praying with us in your respective sites need to know that everything that can be done to prevent any disaster is being called into service.

The human thirst for excellence, knowledge, every step up the ladder of science, every adventurous reach into space, down to the Northern star of the Adu Bayero, all of our combined old/modern technologies and imaginations, even the wars that we've fought (Sokovia, Lagos, New York and Wakanda) have provided us the tools to wage this battle at our doorstep.  Through all the chaos #Change.. that is our history, through all of the wrongs #Lekkitollgate and the discord, through all of the pain and suffering, through all of our times, there is one thing that has nourished our souls, and elevated our species above its origins, and that is #olamideshakushaku.. J apologies as I meant our courage and our believe in the Avengers.

The dreams of an entire planet are focused today on those brave souls matching into the abyss.  To fight an unknown enemy that has single handedly destroyed Worlds and civilizations for Centuries.  May we all citizens the world over, see these events through global domination on an epic box office returns like never before.  Godspeed and good luck to you all.

BLACK PANTHER

It started as a legend!! One of the greatest of all tales!! A thousand years they have kept it hidden, to protect earth from what was destined to arrive.

Explorers have searched for it for centuries, writers have written thousands of books on it, a collective of the greatest minds in human history called it “Eldorado”.  A city of fabulous riches held by 16th century explorers thought to exist in South America…they were wrong.  By the beginning of the 19th century most people dismissed the existence of the city as a myth.  Until now..

Welcome to 2018.  Now that I have your attention!! let’s begin.

Long have we waited for Hollywood to grace our hearts with a black superhero after ten years of DC/Marvel superheroes dominance of the silver screens.   It is the most anticipated movie in 2018 Africa and the black community, not “Jackson style” #justsaying.  Since its production stage, it has sold more presale tickets than any Marvel movie ever.  It had over 70 million views on YouTube in the 3^rd day of the 2^nd trailer release.  

These are troubled times, and without leaders, chaos reigns.  When all seems lost, the King returns to turn the tide of human history and restore order.

The premise once again is simple, but undeniably entertaining.  Who needs to travel to Europe when you have a pool of Gold in Africa?  The power of this film is shown in its ability to remain so tense for so long, only letting up for brief moments of light-heartedness, before quickly returning you to the edge of your seat.  Make no mistake about it: at times, “Black…” is unbearably tense.  What we don’t have is a shortage of excitement. Some of the scenes are electrifying with “you know who” growing powers in some out of World body suit/armor, bringing about some terrific action sequences.

It gives me great and superior privilege to introduce The crew, The gear, the amazing Marvels Black Panther on IMAX 3D. oh! and 2D regular for the others J.

THE WEDDING PARTY 2

Hello All,

The honeymoon period tends to last anywhere between 6 months and a year.  The relationship still feels fresh and exciting, and you're constantly learning new things about each other and having first experiences together.  But there comes a point when suddenly you've done all that stuff together already.  Then follows the uninvited in-laws into the room next door and the institution known as marriage begins…

In 1992 the Nigerain film industry was introduced to the World {Nollywood} with the release of the title living in bondage. Twenty four years on: in December 2016, the Continent of Africa recorded half a Billion from the box office Nollywood release of The Wedding Party.

This Nollywood franchise title will keep you in * stitches * .  From the opening scene to the end credits.  I never thought in a million years that this film would be as funny as the first installment, guess what! It is comedy Heaven, comedy gold, comedy everything as it is.  The odd pairing of veterans Chiwetalu Agu and Patience Ozokwor pays off tenfold.  Their odd pairing and hilarious antics made me think some of the classic film, "The Odd Couple". The film also reminded me a little of the 2004 release comedy, "Meet the Fockers" because of its off-beat way of bringing the audience into the story.  

The introduction of A new "odd couple", “An accidental proposal” “The In-Laws from two Continents”.. This film knows where its strengths are and it continues the laughs over and over.  The supporting cast were a joy to watch and executed their roles most brilliantly throughout the film.  There are interesting musical/comedic additions, which help put interesting slants and accents on the various scenes.

It is the most anticipated blockbuster movie of the year and I have to say, is by far the funniest movie I have seen this year and would be the biggest release of 2017.  #youcantakethattothebank
