So!! Before I get into it, this week’s gossip column will be a mixture of movie quotes from past/present, mashed up, remixed and dished out to define our anticipations of November titles.

Doctor Strange

Action, Adventure, Fantasy and a world filled with unlimited wonders and magic graces the silver screens in Marvel’s Dr Strange on 3^rd November 2016.

As it happened, I found myself seated with a selected few lucky movie junkies in the cold British winter of the magnificent IMAX Waterloo theater, to see the new Marvel franchise titled Dr Strange.  As usual, our host started off with the history lesson (lol) of the origins of this movie and how the title has been in development for 30 years.

Oloibiri : Action Thriller

Oloibiri, City of the Living.  Crown jewel of Gunpowder (RMD) Nollywoods Finest.  Home of Timipre (Olu Jacobs) Nollywood Veteran, a native to the town were oil was first discovered in commercial quantity Nigeria.

The Arbitration tells the story of love, betrayal and the truth.  It is a picture I quite enjoyed very much I must admit.  It is perhaps one for the intellectuals that is certain to keep you glued to your seats.

Suicide Squad

Welcome to the Month of August. The countdown has begun to a monumental, historic, groundbreaking, show stopping IMAX Lagos takeover.

It is indeed a Lagos takeover. From the street pole lights of Ozumba Mbadiwe to the famous Zenith bank road, down to the riverbank of the Civic Center, cut across the stretch of the Admiralty in Lekki Phase 1, The Filmhouse IMAX coming soon signage’s are well represented.

Film critics have labeled the movie Suicide Squad Worst Heroes Ever. Best Movie Ever! Mr Isaac saw the Exhibitors screening of the movie last week and this is how he best described his experience to me; Sir, it was Ali Baba, Okey Bakassi, Elenu, Clint D Drunk, AY, Akpororo, Helen Paul, Genevieve Nnaji and RMD first class combination.... I responded saying, how about Falz D Bahd Guy! He said no room Sir, Only nine heroes :)

Suicide Squad: Movie Synopsis
A secret government agency run by Amanda Waller, named A.R.G.U.S creates a task force comprising super villains, the "Suicide Squad". They are assigned to execute dangerous tasks in exchange for shorter prison sentences.

Movie Review
In a "Dark site" buried amidst the swamps of Louisiana, the worst and most condemned criminals and wicked individuals are locked away. This group of psychopaths are very dangerous and irredeemable but against all odds they became top choice of a desperate US government to fight against extraterrestrial terrorists and always save the day against any threat on the earth and its citizens.

How? I know you would ask, of course yes - they must surely possess the moral righteousness to work together as a team to get the job done with a tiny remote-control bomb implanted in each of their necks to induce cooperation and train them to fight against any threat, this gave the movie a twist “Bad guys got humbled” but who will lead them?

Blame it on Batman, DC universe has gotten awfully dark in recent years, As things stand, Superman is off the scene; America needs protection, so Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) she is running the show, recruits the baddest and put them under the control of special forces hombre Rick Flag (Joel Kinnaman).

“Suicide Squad” stands to become one of the summer’s biggest hits, with a grafted-on appearance by Jared Leto as the (Joker), who is on the loose but fell in love with Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie). Joker has a plan to sabotage the mission just to reunite with his true love, Harley.

Harley Quinn, love they say makes us do crazy stuff, carry gag-themed weaponry, becoming a super-villain dressed in costume and killing countless civilians all just to put a smile on her puddin’s face.

Deadshot, the world's most dangerous lethal hit man who is going through some custody issues with his cute and adorable daughter. His aiming abilities are on point he never misses, his bullets can go through the eye of a needle.

Writer-director David Ayer has to hire Smith, yes I mean Will Smith, damn! This guy can turn things around make the dumbest movie sell. Deadshot (Will Smith) he becomes an eye opener and a motivation for the team as he uncovers a government secret that they shouldn’t be aware of. Deadshot made it straight from the beginning I am doing this for my daughter, that’s something though for a bad ass criminal, so people can change.

Guard your territory, there could be aliens in this movie, Will Smith made the right choice not to appear in Independence Day: Resurgence because he still got some aliens to deal with in the Suicide Squad.

“Enchantress” the mystery woman you can also call her “The Transformer” June Moone who stumbled across a secret chamber in a remote castle and she got possessed by a powerful demon, which aids her with mystical powers to defend justice but for how long?, who wants to have an affair with a demon possessed woman, the government likes her powers but can she be controlled? Her heart becomes the only way to trap her down, can a psycho fall in love….?

Their secrets becomes their weak point, “The Enchantress wants to be free but she is still stock in June’s body who will help her, what weapon can she use?” Diablo (Jay Hernandez) with intense facial tattoo a former gang member from Los Angeles his past life of crime hunts him and really doesn’t want to fight anymore but the squad is ride or die, how can he survive this suicide mission? Don’t piss him off though, you just might get burnt, he wants to be reunited with his family at all cost, he is the fire man.

Hombre Rick Flag (Joel Kinnaman). The military officer put in charge of the team to make sure that they don’t get out of hand during these high-risk missions but harbors a hidden agenda to help him rescue his lover. He needs someone with no psychopath history to assist in handling the bomb remote controlled criminals, Katana (Karen Fukuhara). An expert swords woman and martial artist who is dealing with the loss of her husband.

Slipknot (Adam Beach) is a master of ropes being able to get the team out of any dangerous situation but instead he got the idea that they can escape the mission, maybe trying to test and know if the Waller’s bomb chip on their necks is really working, This guy has it, there is not a height that Slipknot cannot climb so long he has his ropes.

Boomerang (Jai Courtney) The assassin, a jerk who does not take is life seriously carrying with him a toy unicorn that he rather protect than any other member of the team. He talks about escaping but he will never try it so he sells the idea. The ability to throw boomerangs extremely well isn't exactly the most amazing ability about him in this movie.

Killer Croc (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje) Gotham’s City most powerful underground crook served 18 years in prison during which he murdered a fellow inmate for making fun of his look but his skills cannot be ignored Waller needs someone with an underground background. He is a bit of a cannibal with genetic condition that makes him look like a reptilian. His role gets more interesting as he claims his looks is sexy…lolz.

FilmOne presents Ice-Age : Collision Course.

We are at collision course, the end of life as we know it…not one of the predictions of Nostradamus J.  They were known as the Sub-Zero-Heroes #Animalworld.  With a relatively small budget for an animated film of only $60 million the people at Fox Animation and Blue Sky Studios have done an incredible job.

They have taking us on a 14 years journey from the Meltdown to the Dawn Of The Dinosaurs through the Continental Drift with a worldwide life time gross of $2.8 Billion.

In the words of Morpheus “Everything That Has A Beginning, Has An End”  Manny, Sid and Diego are back for the holiday season in the fifth and supposedly the final installment of the franchise with a farewell message;

This is your last chance.  After this, there is no turning back. You take the blue pill - the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe at the end of the holiday season. OR, You catch on the nearest Kekenape/Okada/Bus/Onechance J sorry Bentley.. to the nearest Filmhouse Cinema, and I will show you wonderland, a world of CGI animated, adventure and comedy for all.

Captain America: Civil War

The wait is over, the cold winter seasons are over… as Steve Rogers graces the silver-screens once more in Marvel’s third installment in Captain America: Civil War.  Spoiler Alert!! Captain America Live in Lagos popular market Ojuelegba.  YES. I. SAID. IT

Make no mistake people, if you were disappointed by Avengers: Age of Ultron I have got good news for you. Marvel’s big summer release Captain America: Civil War is the Avengers movie you were hoping to get last year, and that’s a fact.. YES. I. SAID. IT

After viewing the title in an Executive screening last week, I can confirm that Captain America Civil War will hit the 1 Billion GBO forecast as it has everything from comedy that keeps you smiling like you just won the lottery ticket, to breath taking action scenes that keeps you on the very edge of your seats, to introduction of new superheroes with powers we can only hope for in dreams.  

It’s incredible how watchable Captain America: Civil War is and how dull Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice turned out to be….YES. I. SAID. IT lol.  Marvel knows how to move the story along and keep us entertained. Marvel knows how to trick us into liking these characters and caring about what happens to them.  That trick is by making them likable, so likable that I dare anyone in this Universe/Filmhouse to choose one superhero over the other.. YES. I. SAID. IT

Storyline
With many people fearing the actions of super heroes, the government decides to push for the Anti-Hero Registration Act, a law that limits a heroes actions. This results in a division in The Avengers. Iron Man stands with this Act, claiming that their actions must be kept in check otherwise cities will continue to be destroyed, but Captain America feels that saving the world is daring enough and that they cannot rely on the government to protect the world. This escalates into an all-out war between Team Iron Man (Iron Man, Black Panther, Vision, Black Widow, War Machine, and Spiderman) and Team Captain America (Captain America, Bucky Barnes, Falcon, Sharon Carter, Scarlett Witch, Hawkeye, and Ant Man) while a new villain emerges.

Did You Know?

• Iron Man orders Captain America to stay down, and Cap answers: "I could do this all day". That is the same answer he gave to a bully who was beating him up at the beginning of Captain America: The First Avenger (2011). 
• In an interview, Daniel Brühl said this movie's budget was so huge that you could make 20 films from it. 
• The finalists for the Spider-Man role would do separate screen tests with Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. with the intent of seeing the chemistry fit the best with both Evans and Downey
• In the film, the Falcon utilizes a falcon drone called Redwing. In the mainstream Marvel comics, Redwing was an actual falcon, which was Sam Wilson's sidekick. 
• Co-director Joe Russo said that "the most powerful shot of the film" was Steve Rogers stopping a helicopter from taking off with his bare hands. The shot was even featured in the first teaser trailer for the film. Russo said Chris Evans worked very hard in the gym to physically embody the character because they wanted to test the limits of Steve's physical strength. About the shot itself he noted, "On set we had Chris straining against a crane holding the helicopter to get this
