THE WEDDING PARTY 2

Hello All,

The honeymoon period tends to last anywhere between 6 months and a year.  The relationship still feels fresh and exciting, and you're constantly learning new things about each other and having first experiences together.  But there comes a point when suddenly you've done all that stuff together already.  Then follows the uninvited in-laws into the room next door and the institution known as marriage begins…

Welcome to destination Dubai.

In 1992 the Nigerain film industry was introduced to the World {Nollywood} with the release of the title living in bondage. Twenty four years on: in December 2016, the Continent of Africa recorded half a Billion from the box office Nollywood release of The Wedding Party.

This Nollywood franchise title will keep you in * stitches * .  From the opening scene to the end credits.  I never thought in a million years that this film would be as funny as the first installment, guess what! It is comedy Heaven, comedy gold, comedy everything as it is.  The odd pairing of veterans Chiwetalu Agu and Patience Ozokwor pays off tenfold.  Their odd pairing and hilarious antics made me think some of the classic film, "The Odd Couple". The film also reminded me a little of the 2004 release comedy, "Meet the Fockers" because of its off-beat way of bringing the audience into the story.

The introduction of A new "odd couple", “An accidental proposal” “The In-Laws from two Continents”.. This film knows where its strengths are and it continues the laughs over and over.  The supporting cast were a joy to watch and executed their roles most brilliantly throughout the film.  There are interesting musical/comedic additions, which help put interesting slants and accents on the various scenes.

It is the most anticipated blockbuster movie of the year and I have to say, is by far the funniest movie I have seen this year and would be the biggest release of 2017.  #youcantakethattothebank

The ELFIKE Film Collective presents The Wedding Party 2: Destination Dubai.

So, as I often say! whatever the case may be, however the week is going, everyone needs a little relaxation time as often as possible and it remains our pleasure to offer you that and so much more, because your comfort remains our priority. Until next year stay blessed and Merry Christmas in advance.

JUSTICE LEAGUE

Hello All,
The wait is over.  It’s been 20 years after the death of Superman.  The cold winter seasons never seem to go away… The World as we know it, has turned into dark depression.  The vigilante known as the Batman graces the silver-screens once more in DC’s third installment in Justice League.

I will start with a confession: I am really not that into comic books.  Although I have long-since come to accept that I am a fully-formed old-man…, I was a late comer to the comic book party.  Growing up, it was only Voltron legendary defender, Super-Ted, and Danger Mouse (and, to a lesser extent, Spiderman, Batman) on NTA that drew my attention to the glamorous clamour of the world of superheroes.
After viewing the title in an Exhibitors screening yesterday, I can confirm that Justice League will hit the $1 Billion GBO forecast as it has everything from comedy that keeps you smiling like you just won the lottery ticket, to breath taking action scenes.  One thing you need to do when watching “Justice League” is to forget BVS in the franchise.  As far as I am concerned, BVS never happened.
It’s safe to say that; DC has left no stone unturned and have done a brilliant job in bringing all the superheroes characters from Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, to snarky speedster Barry Allen/Flash, to sassy fish-whisperer Arthur Curry/Aquaman and surly human machine Victor Stone/Cyborg.
So, I am going to leave you with this; I don't know who you are, but whatever you're looking for, you should move on from mourning from BVS.
Whatever the case may be, however the week is going, everyone needs to see this film with a little relaxation time.  It remains our pleasure to offer you that and so much more, because your comfort remains our priority. Until next week stay blessed.

THOR: RAGNAROK

Hello All,
My father once said, "A wise man never seeks out war..." "But he must always be ready for it!"
Welcome to Asgard week 45.
I used to leave a theatre after seeing a highly anticipated movie, specifically a sequel, and be so revved up about what I saw that I would declare that movie to be the best of the franchise.  Until my opinion balanced out and I had a more well-rounded take #afterseeingcalabarsweekendreports.  For that reason, one would think i would steer away from that mindset right? *coughs*
At this point everyone has come to know and love all of the characters in the marvel universe, if you don’t agree, then I can confirm that you are not human and you should change your name spongebob lol.
The stakes have become tremendously high.  Kingdoms are at their knees, Asgard has fallen to the goddess of death and the only characters who can save the day are; the God of Thunder, an adopted/deported/excommunicated prince of Asgard, a giant green monster under emotional stress, seeking asylum, badly in need of anger management classes and a new character known as Valkyrie….
The tension was very high, the comedy was brilliantly executed in this franchise blockbuster and YES i can honestly say that this title had me on the edge of my seat.

WE ARE HERE BENIN

Hello All,

''The Rise and Fall of the Great Powers'': all great powers fall.  The issue, therefore, is not ''if'' the planet Earth will end but ''when'' and how? Do I have your attention? Then let’s begin.

Welcome to Benin. #Empirefightsback

The land grew rich during the 16th and 17th centuries due to trade within southern Nigeria, as well as through trade with Europeans, mostly in pepper and ivory.

On 17 February 1897, Benin City fell to the British Empire in the "Punitive Expedition” a 1,200-strong British force, under the command of Admiral Sir Harry Rawson, conquered and razed the city.  One of the greatest empires was no more.

Over the Centuries, new occupants in the state known as the Indomie/money fall on you generation.. lol, have hidden in the shadows in search of allies to create an unstoppable force.  The search is over.  On the 24th October 2017, Filmhouse Benin under the command of a new General of the industry “Aina” with the help of over a 125 years of cinema commandos behind him, they will open the doors to one of the greatest empire known to man and will come face to face with a new global threat.  It is a force known as Geostorm.

They will fight with silver screens/3D glasses, not with cutlass/arrows.  They will fight with 7.1/dolby atmos technology, not with the power of deities like (Amadioha).  They will fight with content genres like action, comedy, drama and not with pounded yam and vegetable.  They will conquer and raise the city to shine in gold, they will restore the glory and pride of the people of the Edo Kingdom.
If there's any movie theater that has successfully shown quality service and movie presentation, it's Filmhouse theaters.
So, as I often say! whatever the case may be, however the week is going, everyone needs a little relaxation time as often as possible and it remains our pleasure to offer you that and so much more, because your comfort remains our priority. Until next week stay blessed.

KINGSMAN - THE GOLDEN CIRCLE

Hello All,
I know, I know…I missed you all too..

Now! This will incontrovertibly attract a lot of hate from 007 fans, but guess what? I'm one of those who thinks Ian Fleming is the epitome of how to make a perfect action hero spectacle.

Or at least, I was until tonight.

This film will blow your mind.  Quite literally, it is jam-packed with edge-of-your-seat action thrills and pure comedic gold.  Don't be expecting a moody companion piece like that of Austin Powers trilogy.  It keeps more in touch with what I call the best of British intelligence.  Although it's a lot funnier than the first installment and really builds upon the upcoming... #lipssealed

The actors are incredible, matching the character developments, the dialogue and action sequences are spectacular and the visual effects are from CGI heaven and should surely earn a nod come Oscar time…lol ok I am pushing it, but you get my point.

It’s the sort of film which made me want to find out about {MI5} the great British intelligence for a particular period. Sad of me? Maybe, but I don't mind, it was great fun.

Enjoy, I certainly did.

So until next I bid you farewell and remember "Manners maketh man." Do you know what that means? Then let me teach you a lesson.

MY WIFE AND I / ANABELLE 2

Hello Film Lovers! Cinema Foot Soldier! Film General!
It is that time of the week when we herald the arrival of delicacies from the Filmbooking kitchen. We have emerged from an interesting week that saw us laugh to the accent of the hilarious Chigurl and the entertaining escapades from the chemistry of Samuel L. Jackson and Ryan Reynolds. Our appetites have been steered up by the tantalizing trailers we’ve seen in the recent past. So what’s next? We are all thinking…
It’s an interesting meal table standing on the legs of comedy, drama and horror!!!
And guess what???  The same Chefs who brought us exotic meals such as THE WEDDING PARTY and THE ARBITRATION – have prepared something totally out of this world…. It has a recipe of the sensational Ramsey Noah, the much admired screen diva – Omoni Oboli and the humorous Seyi Law. The meal is quite seasoned with hilarious and entertaining scenes that promise to make you search for spaces to faint from laughter.
Ladies and gentlemen, from the stables of FILMONE DISTRIBUTION comes the much anticipated MY WIFE AND I.
Remember the table also has a horror leg??? O yes! BLUE PICTURES also brings to you the ojuju like ANABELLE 2.

THE HITMAN'S BODYGUARD

Hello All,
Fasten your seatbelts, ”Finally o! It’s About To Go Down”
Love him or hate him (and it’s increasingly difficult to hate him), few would deny that Samuel L Jackson is a master of action. Perhaps SLJ finest hour, at least in this century for me was Pulp Fiction.  He is one of Hollywood’s unsung heroes that has single-handedly ruined the word mother******.
Welcome to week 34. Over the last twenty years movie directors has presented some of the most spectacular set pieces for the screen in modern times, and in a year when action cinema has been thrillingly revived, this feature marks a high point.
Action movies has been around since 1903’s “The Great Train Robbery,” and when done right, it’s a form of pure cinema injected straight into the veins.. though I never saw TGTR in any cinema #justsaying, but you get my point.  It’s a very particular set of skills, one that’s thwarted many great directors, but in able hands such as Michael Bay/John Woo #bestever, who are capable of precisely choreographing a fight, battle, chase or showdown, to shoot them in inventive and thrilling ways.  (not like Dark Tower)  waste of time/popcorn/shawama with one sausage and one coke #justsaying.
To best describe this title would be foul-mouthed Deadpool goes to dinner with John Shaft in a location yet to be picked out by Google maps.  It is a thoroughly enjoyable, deeply satisfying piece of entertainment that transports you to a level of transcendence.
The booking department is very pleased to bring to your silver screens, The Hitman’s Bodyguard.

THE DARK TOWER

Hello All,
August 1st 2017, I look around the room seated in the middle with strange faces around me, it is notably observed, that we share one thought, incredible!
Hollywood, the best of Hollywood!! How they have taken a simple story of good and evil and transformed it onto a magnificent action feature on the silver screen that I have seen since John Wick’s franchise.   It goes without saying that there's only room for one hero in this story, and everyone knows the devil doesn't get to be the good guy.
I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word in reality.  However, the forbidden truth, the unspeakable taboo - that evil is not always repellent but frequently attractive; that it has the power to make of us not simply victims, as nature and accident do, but active accomplices.
And so it begins!! I think we've been down here in the dark long enough.  There's a whole other world upstairs.  Take my hand Filmhouse/ #FilmOneConstant tenants, and I'll be happy to lead you back into the sunshine.  I'm happy to go there because I believe most people are essentially good. I know that I am. It's you I'm not entirely sure of…
Welcome to week 32..The Dark Tower.

VALERIAN AND THE CITY OF A THOUSAND PLANETS

Hello All,

We are back!! Perhaps more confused than usual.  It suddenly dawn on me what many might refer to as a writer’s block, lack of inspiration, passion and the drive to imagine/create the extraordinary.  Where does it all come from? Have you ever wondered what if all that we have been thought, all that we know to true, turns out to be a lie of the greatest story ever told.

Welcome to week 31.  It is a question that we humans have asked for centuries and greatest minds of the human race are still searching for an answer.  “Where do we come from”.

In the vast shadow of space lies a city like non in the known Universe. Occupied with living species of superior intellect and technologies of unknown origin.  It is a city with no name, a city with no Presidents, no Commander in chief, no Emperors, no Evans, no Diezani and no Great Wall!!  It is a city of a thousand planets which brings me back to my confused state of mind.  {If we are created in his image, then who created them}.

So, as I often say! whatever the case may be, however the week is going, everyone needs a little relaxation time as often as possible and it remains our pleasure to offer you that and so much more, because your comfort remains our priority. Until next week, stay blessed.

Alien: Covenant

Time!! The oxford dictionary defines this as the indefinite continued progress of existence and events in the past, present, and future regarded as a whole.
Alien!! A hypothetical or fictional being from another world.  The following events you are about to experience is not fictional but facts, that will leave you with more questions than answer and might perhaps bring your very existence into question.   If you are reading this, then perhaps there is hope for the human race to better prepare for inevitable.
In the year of our Lord 1979 we discovered we were not alone in the universe.  Fast forward {38 years} to be precise, in our search for understanding, we ventured into a void of no return…well, the flyer adverts said “dream Big, explore and tell a tale” they conveniently missed out “No Return”
I once bought a book by an accomplished Cambridge scholar who said “death smiles at us all, and all a man can do, is smile back” I will be sure to pay him a refund visit in the afterlife. J

It’s Easter 2017!!

It’s Easter 2017!!
As with many of my generation it was star wars, Indiana jones, the good the bad & the ugly that first made me aware of a thing called “movies”.  Whilst many of the Indy’s adventures benefit few outside the niche group that is enthusiastic museum-goers, Star wars took us to the darkest parts of space and beyond and Eastwood brought us back to desert for “a few dollars more”.
Today’s generation is faced with a genre filled with superheroes that are genetically modified into the boss baby fresh at of crèche, to the city of a thousand planets guarded by the valerian army to protect a group known as the Power Rangers.
I like to take a moment to wish you all a very happy Easter, regardless of your religious persuasion (or lack thereof).  Easter is a period of reflection which is considered within the Christian beliefs, that which is neither more nor less than the annual commemoration of the Passion, Death and Resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth. For this reason, these phrases may motivate you to think about the holidays a little more than superfluous.
So, I am going to end with this! whatever the case may be, however the week is going, everyone needs to remember that Easter reminds us that hope must never be lost for as dark as the road may seem, there always lies light at the end of it. May all your prayers be fulfilled.  Until next week...#dropspen#remiout

John Wick: Chapter 2

Hello All,

We are meant to believe that shadows only appear in front, behind and sideways, but never on top.  You are about to discover a new believe.

With the titular character ably portrayed by #Mrshadow as the quintessential and confident bad-ass, trigger happy, gun loving and  lonely character, the surrounding cast also held their chin high as they displayed true class in every scene.

While the world of movie making may have changed, one thing remains constant: action movies.  Are you ready for what is coming, are you ready for were we are going #MDJ But you better make sure you’ve made room for the glorious world of broken bones, covert operations, and killer instinct that make action flicks the ultimate in the movie watching.
The beauty of flicks like John Woo's undisputed classic Hard Boiled is that they're able to mask otherwise mundane, seen-it-before plots by simply blowing our minds in presentation.

Filmhouse, do you know what makes a good action movie? A retired assassin with a double identity, an organization known to harbor crime in the dark corners of the underworld, a Customized black blazers from Tm Lewin, and one hell of a sexy bad a** mustang 2017 model.  Yes!! His back in another chapter in Moscow.

Filmhouse/FilmOne, the booking department presents John wick Chapter 2

KONG SKULL ISLAND

Hello All,

If you are reading this… the truth is out and the World will never be the same.Over the years in our search to discover who we are and where we came from, we have explored into unknown territories.  We discovered unexplained mysteries in the course of our journey with our technology and scientific knowledge we titled our discoveries such as; The Bermuda Triangle, Stonehenge, Salar De Uyuni and Aokighara.  We became Kings of these lands, worshiped by many and we were called the untouchables…or so we thought.

Logan, aka The Wolverine

Date of birth: unknown, Father/Mother: unknown, Name: Logan, aka The Wolverine, Battles won: All, Children: spoiler alert!! You are about to find out..

Welcome to the month of March. where heroes take us through an emotional rollercoaster, where heroes pass on to the afterlife and where the next generation of pace setters are born.  I am one of such #justsayingbirthmonth.

Everything that has a beginning, has an end.  I am going to try and not get too emotionally attached to this picture title, so I am just going to say…brilliant, outstanding, complete entertainment and a flat out masterpiece.

It is the year 2029 and the world is not the same as it was.  Mutants... they're gone now.. in the outskirts of Mexican border, just before the Trump Wall J, the last of the ageing ambassadors of the X generation makes one final stand.  A stand that will no doubt leave you on the very edge of your seats.  This movie is sophisticated and delivers a grand, tragic story.  If you loved the title Deadpool? then get ready to be blown away.

Seating back as the credits came up on the IMAX theater, my memory bank travelled back in time to a concentrated camp in East Berlin, to a castle in Yorkshire England, to an empire in Tokyo Japan.. Marvel has done a fantastic job in creating a character that transcends into different genres and well i guess they couldn't have ended it in any better way as a last farewell to the fans and his signature role.

So, as I often say! whatever the case may be, however the week is going, everyone needs a little relaxation time as often as possible and it remains our pleasure to offer you that and so much more, because your comfort remains our priority. Until next week stay blessed.

The phones rings, the sweet melody voice of 2baba as my ringtone was just what I needed to here until I saw the true caller.  It was Maami (mother)!! Shaking my head I knew I was about to get a wakeup call yet again about marriage, or so I thought until she said, Bumi (my younger sister) is getting married…

What is a Dogs Purpose? & Evil Will End January 27th

Dear All,

Welcome to 2017.  Finally!! we have a film that hits the spotlight this week and it’s not a dog’s purpose *choughs*.

It’s at an end to the evil who that has resided in the silver screens across 196 Countries since 2002.   It is perhaps a scaring thought to think that the existence of the human race would one day be dependent on the choices/actions of a single individual.  Hollywood over the years has distributed this notion with their big blockbusters to signify an impending end to all living things on planet Earth.
